Google Play Payment for Spotify#
I have been using Spotify for a little over a year. I previously purchased a one-year family membership from the Honey Store. However, it expired with one month remaining. I saw many people experiencing the same issue in the official Telegram messages, and later they even disabled messaging. Re-adding the membership seemed to result in some content being removed from my account, so I didn't bother submitting a support ticket.
The biggest impact of not having a membership is that on the mobile app, I can only play music randomly when I enter an album. I can't see the list of songs, and there is no next song button on the interface. I can only skip to the next song by double-clicking on my headphones. Additionally, there are 30-second ads, and depending on the server, I hear ads in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
This is how manufacturers work. The less you buy, the bigger the discount they offer to lure you back. In the normal Hong Kong region, it costs 68HK per month. Since I haven't been a member for a while, they offered me 68HK for three months. I had been thinking of creating a family plan in the Hong Kong region, but I was worried about the stability of the members and the monthly cost of 108HK. So I decided to start with an individual membership.
Before using Spotify, I downloaded NetEase Cloud Music and QQ Music. When I opened their interfaces, they felt bloated, and the membership wasn't cheap either. Although there may be some discount channels, I didn't want to bother with them.
Spotify only accepted PayPal for payment, but after linking my PayPal account, it prompted me to use a PayPal account from the same region. I was using an account from mainland China, so I couldn't add funds. It's frustrating that they don't let you spend your money. So I looked it up on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) and found a recommendation to use Google Play for payment. Coincidentally, I had just switched to a Xiaomi 13, so I easily linked my payment method.
Dog's Bed#
It's been almost a month since my dog came back from being groomed. He is still using my old clothes as his bed. He sometimes pees in the bed, and I have already changed it four times. I don't have any more old clothes to provide for him. Although he gets scolded for peeing in the bed, there haven't been any major issues as long as he doesn't eat 💩. So I bought him two beds. On Saturday afternoon, the bed was warmed by the sun, and it was really comfortable for him to lie on.
The good times didn't last long. On Sunday night, he peed on the bed again, so I replaced it with a new one and put my cushion on top. I hope he appreciates it and takes good care of it.
Project PR#
This week on GitHub, I came across a project called lobe-chat, which is related to ChatGPT. I tried it out and had a good first impression. The project is quite complete. While deleting the assistant, I found an i18n issue, so I submitted a PR. This is actually my first bug-related PR, and it was merged quite quickly.

I check GitHub every day and see that the profiles of the experts are very cool or filled with content. So I decided to update mine as well.
This is the final result.
The "Spent My Time On" section uses Dashboard - WakaTime. I installed plugins for WebStorm, VSCode, and Obsidian, which automatically track my time. It's quite useful.
The "Blog" and "Weekly" sections use GitHub Actions to automatically fetch and display content from RSS feeds at fixed times.
The final section shows the number of stars I have received. I'm satisfied with over two hundred, but none of my projects have reached a hundred stars yet. I will continue to work hard.
